HISTORICAL RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION
We offer a wide variety of resources and services for historical preservation and restoration projects. We will preserve the architecture of the era and integrity of the details.
First United Methodist Church, 1858-1874, Early Gothic Revival.
This building features a tower with no spire and was transformed by removing the 90′ steeple, after a hurricane in 1938.
Throughout the preservation process, we kept the historical elements and preserved the unique character:
diamond-shaped rose-colored lead windows and cut granite foundation gable roof.
This project involved restoration and rehabilitation of the exterior masonry facade, pointed arches, corbelling brick, granite lintels, stain glass lead window, regular windows, wood moldings and slate roof tile.
Our work helped bring this building back to its original glory, in full compliance with the standards of the Somerville Historical Preservation Commission and the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
